Configuration / Technical Writer Specialist

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for all aspects of Configuration and Data Management, such as document releases, documentation control, and preparation of technical materials like manuals. Ensure consistency and accuracy across all technical content with keen attention to detail.
Essential Job Functions: Manage and maintain part numbers and bills of materials (BOM) in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, including processing wire lists. Attend project meetings and provide relevant updates as needed. Maintain documentation within the Production Online Documentation Center (PODC). Support the maintenance of ISO procedures, forms, and indexes. Create and update the Engineering Release Records (ERR) log. Accurately file electronic documents using the application lifecycle management (ALM) tool, ensuring proper version control and compliance with ISO standards. Assist in managing the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL). Support the creation and processing of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and Variances. Participate in ISO procedure audits. Develop comprehensive technical manuals and guides for complex subjects. Enhance existing and new content for clarity and accuracy. Write and edit product manuals, instruction guides, reference documents, and white papers. Create user-friendly product documentation, including screenshots and tutorials. Conduct research to effectively communicate complex technical information in an accessible manner. Utilize version control tools to manage documentation revisions. Must be present at the assigned worksite during designated hours, except for approved leave (PTO, FMLA, STD/LTD). Other Job Functions:
Assist other departments with technical documentation requests, work instructions, and process routers. Perform additional duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility:

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information per government standards. Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with peers and supervisors. Professional communication skills when interacting with the public. Adherence to workplace policies and procedures. Proficiency in reading and writing in English. Experience with standard office equipment, including computers, multi-line phones, scanners, printers, and copiers. High attention to detail, self-motivation, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite required. Certification preferred. Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Office environment. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Repetitive tasks such as typing, using a 10-key keypad, and handling phone calls. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
