NATURE OF DUTIES:
The Director of Patient Access is responsible for leading patient access operations, including scheduling, switchboard functions, and ensuring high-quality service. The Director will drive departmental goals, implement best practices, and collaborate with various teams to maintain operational excellence. This role reports to the VP of Operations.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead the department to align with organizational goals, set performance expectations, and ensure high service levels. Provide leadership to front office and clinic teams for seamless communication and scheduling.
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations, including scheduling, insurance verification, and resource allocation. Improve patient flow, reduce wait times, and ensure efficient workflows.
- Portal Usage: Promote the patient portal for streamlined communication and access to services.
- Data & Reporting: Analyze data to track KPIs and report performance metrics to senior management.
- Human Resources: Oversee recruitment, training, and development of team members. Mentor staff and conduct performance evaluations.
- Staffing & Resources: Monitor staffing levels, approve time-off requests, and manage departmental budgets.
- Collaboration & Communication: Act as liaison between departments to ensure accurate, timely communication. Resolve issues and escalate as needed.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to policies, HIPAA compliance, and accurate patient documentation. Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory changes.
- Additional Responsibilities: Contribute to strategic planning and perform other duties as needed to meet departmental goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare, 3+ years of Healthcare Scheduling Center experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree required. CPAM or CHCS certifications a plus.
Compensation:
Pay starting at $80,000. Pay will be commensurate based on experience.
