What is the opportunity?
As Senior Manager, CEO Communications, you will help bring strategic advice and communications support to RBC's CEO. To excel in this role, you must be an exceptional writer and researcher with a passion for creating compelling content that elevates and advances our CEO's leadership voice within RBC and in the public sphere. You will ideate and create impactful leader messages and narratives, develop executive-ready briefing materials, help support key internal and external event appearances, and contribute to several other key priorities across the CEO communications strategy.
This is a 12-month contract position, reporting to the Vice President, Executive Communications.

What is the opportunity?
As Senior Manager, CEO Communications, you will help bring strategic advice and communications support to RBC's CEO. To excel in this role, you must be an exceptional writer and researcher with a passion for creating compelling content that elevates and advances our CEO's leadership voice within RBC and in the public sphere. You will ideate and create impactful leader messages and narratives, develop executive-ready briefing materials, help support key internal and external event appearances, and contribute to several other key priorities across the CEO communications strategy.
This is a 12-month contract position, reporting to the Vice President, Executive Communications.
What will you do?
- Plan, research, write, and edit content for all CEO communications platforms to reach audiences inside and outside of RBC
- Draft concise, executive-ready briefing materials used to prepare for key engagements
- Ensure CEO narratives and messages are clear, concise, and representative of broader business priorities and objectives.
- Continually evaluate the impact of content and messages to ensure the highest impact across audiences and channels
- Coordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders across the bank to identify and support ways for the CEO to engage with target audiences, including top-tier media outlets, employee-facing events, client engagements, and other key opportunities
- Pitch new ideas that will enhance the CEO platform for the future
- Work in close partnership with CEO executive support team to ensure alignment on calendar of upcoming activities
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 7+ years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs or business/finance journalism
- Ability to write and communicate in a clear and consistent style
- Some demonstrated experience in drafting speeches, opinion pieces, employee memos, social media posts, key messages, and talking points
- A strong grasp of global issues, current events, business trends
- Rigorous attention to detail and deadlines, including strong organizational skills
- Deadline-driven and results-oriented, strong interpersonal skills, project management knowledge and time management capabilities
- A curious and creative thinker who's not afraid to try new things and suggest ideas
- Flexibility to, at times, work outside normal hours
Nice-to-have
- Experience supporting senior-level or C-suite leaders
- Experience in reputational risk, proactive media relations and/or issues management
- Hands-on knowledge of internal and external communications channels, including effective use of events, digital, video and social media communications
