Department Summary

The UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center (CSRC) is one of four ethnic studies research centers housed within the Institute of American Cultures and home to the Latina Futures 2050 Lab (LFL), an initiative funded by a one-time state allocation. LFL aims to increase knowledge and insight through applied policy research on the contours of the economic, political, and social lives of Latinas in the US over the next several decades; provide a Latina lens to policy challenges and opportunities to inform a robust policy-making audience in and beyond California; increase the power and influence of Latinas across important democratic institutions, from state capitols to the ivory tower and corporate boardrooms, to improve governance and advance gender inclusion; and evolve the California Latino Legislative Caucus’ Unseen Latinas Initiative and Assembly Select Committee on Latina Inequities through the 2050 Lab with a direct feedback loop to the State of California.


Position Summary

The UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center seeks a highly motivated and skilled Multimedia Specialist to support the Sr. Communications Manager and The Latina Futures 2050 Lab (LFL). The LFL Multimedia Specialist will be responsible for drafting, editing, and publicizing a wide array of print and digital content, including e-newsletters, blogs, web stories, and video narratives. The Specialist will also collaborate on LFL media conferences and research reports, as well as the LFL Annual Report. Duties may also include editorial and promotional support for press releases, policy briefs, e-newsletters, blogs, web stories, event and video narratives, as well as managing and updating the LFL website and social media channels. Additionally, duties may include multimedia support for other CSRC projects and activities.


Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications
  1. Leadership experience in a research, academic, non-profit, policy-driven organization (Required)
  2. Minimum of 2 years experience directly supporting senior executives or leadership teams (Required)
  3. Experience working with research, academic, and non-profit organizations (Required)
  4. Direct support to Senior executives and leadership teams (Required)
  5. Multimedia storytelling experience (Required)
  6. Project management skills and coordination of complex initiatives (Required)
  7. Commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
  1. Bachelor's Degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training (Required)
  2. Master's Degree in Public Administration, Social Science, or Business Administration (Preferred)
