Job Summary:

The Communications Operator will be responsible for incoming calls and transferring calls.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for input and delivery of wakeup calls and messages in the system.
  • Provide information to any guest or visitor inquiry.
  • Provides prompt, courteous, and efficient handling of all incoming calls and assistance for outgoing calls, which transpire through PBX with a smile and positively in your voice.
  • Plays an integral part in assisting with emergencies (fire, medical, and power/system failure) by contacting the designated personnel for immediate assistance and communicating the alarm.
  • Manages email and text message inbox.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of a telephone system.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A college education or training in the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Front Office Receptionist or PBX Operator in a luxury market is a plus.
  • Fluency in a second language, preferably French, German, or Spanish is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
