Position Overview
As the State of Kansas repository for oil and gas and water well documents, this person will work in the Data Resource Library to enter data from paper records of old wells, scan documents for archival purposes, and presentation on the KGS public website. The task requires meticulous attention to detail and often requires research.
TEMPORARY positions with flexible hours, 30-40 hours per week, during business hours (8am-5pm, Monday through Friday). These positions are funded through June 7, 2025, to work on a specific project; however, the appointment(s) could be extended if additional funds become available. Position Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to push rolling bookcases in confined areas, climb stepladders, and lift 15-20 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in storage areas, capable of working with old documents, which may be dusty, musty, or moldy, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate/GED.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, as evidenced by application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with databases, data entry, and proofreading, as evidenced by application materials.
- Familiarity with or previous work experience with records filed by legal land description (section, township, range), as evidenced by application materials.
- Background in earth sciences and/or archival work, as evidenced by application materials.
