- Develop and manage documentation project plans and timelines.
- Create, edit, and maintain various documents, including user guides, technical specifications, training materials, policies, and proposals for print and digital formats.
- Standardize documentation practices, ensuring consistency and accuracy across materials.
- Collaborate with developers, engineers, and project managers to gather information and enhance documentation quality.
- Research products and assess audience needs to tailor content for clarity and usability.
- Develop visual aids, such as diagrams and charts, to improve comprehension.
- Research and recommend new tools and methods to enhance documentation quality and efficiency.
- Work with department heads and end users to identify business procedures and documentation needs for hardware and software.
- Analyze IT project requirements to determine necessary documentation.
- Collaborate with development teams to gather and interpret technical information.
- Coordinate with designers and printers to ensure high-quality document formatting and layout.
Required Skills for the Senior Technical Writer:
- 2+ years of experience in technical writing (4+ years preferred).
- Degree in English, Communications, or Journalism.
- Strong writing, editing, and document formatting skills.
- Experience documenting IT software and systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
- Excellent communication, research, and analytical abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into user-friendly content.
- Self-motivated, deadline-driven, and capable of working independently or in a team.
- Experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a customer-focused approach.
