About the team and the role: As the Director of Employee Communications, you will play a meaningful role in crafting and implementing global communication strategies that drive employee engagement and cultural change You will work closely with C-suite leaders and their teams to develop and deliver compelling narratives that align with our company's strategic vision and goals. Your ability to manage complex projects, navigate organizational change, and cultivate a diverse and inclusive culture through impactful communication will be key to your success The Global Communications team is an outstanding organization who brings eBay’s story to life to educate, engage, and encourage people around the world. What you will accomplish: Develop and implement global employee communication strategies and tactics in support of key priorities, including executive communications, change management, and employee programs and events. Partner with the Chief People Officer, CFO, and General Counsel to build and deliver compelling content (written, video, digital, presentations) that resonates with employees and aligns with our strategic vision. Drive employee connection to our purpose, strategic vision, and ways of working, encouraging a sense of belonging and engagement. Provide critical communications expertise, counsel, and support, including the development of both short- and long-term communications plans. Lead a diverse and highly effective global communications team, ensuring alignment with overall brand and essential communication efforts. Collaborate with the global communications and BU leadership teams to ensure positive relationships and alignment with eBay's reputation and strategic direction. What you will bring: 12 years of employee communications and leadership communications experience with senior executives, preferably in a global organization within the retail, internet, or technology sectors. 8 years of supervisory experience. BA or equivalent experience in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field required. MS/MBA degree or equivalent is a major plus. Strong people leadership skills and proven ability to work with partners at all levels. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to cut through with a succinct, modern style. Highly proficient user of PowerPoint, AI tools and technology savvy with a keen understanding of all types of channels. Strong digital and social storytelling and engagement experience. Keen understanding of the technology media and external events/communications landscape, with the ability to amplify eBay's reputation and leaders within the sector. Complex organizational and cultural change management experience. Strong capacity to manage complex projects with multiple partners, navigating conflict and driving consensus. Bring a business outcomes attitude to communications work. Passion for improving and sustaining employee engagement. Experience managing and participating in project teams in a matrixed environment. The candidate must be available for a “hybrid working model”, meeting the expectation to work from the San Jose headquarters 3 days per week.
