Purpose of the Job
The Health Promotion Coordinator is responsible for tasks related to increasing compliance with performance measures and promoting comprehensive health care for members from birth to age 21.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Work Experience
- 1 year of experience in health insurance, or other health care related field
- High-School Diploma or GED in general field of study

- 1 year of experience in a managed care organization or related healthcare delivery system

- Enter information from the tracking forms into the Medical Management System
- Process Referrals
- Forward specific referrals to appropriate departments
- Maintain database and documentation
- Enter and update data in the Immunization database
- Outreach made to the parent/guardian of members whose immunizations are not up-to-date
- Contact members via telephone and/or mail on child health and wellness related topics
- Communicate with providers on member related issues
- Follow up calls are made to members who do not show to their scheduled doctor visit to identify possible obstacles to attending scheduled visits
- Outreach to members referred to services to verify that needs have been met
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements

Required Job Skills
- Knowledge of Medicaid regulations and guidelines
- Knowledge of childhood immunization requirements
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Computer experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Effective time management skills
- Problem solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize work tasks to adhere to deadlines and identified time frames
- Typing 35-40 wpm
