Iran International operates Farsi and English services that aim to provide comprehensive and up-to-date news coverage and reliable information about Iran and the broader Middle East region to a global audience. They are designed to offer news and analysis on a wide range of topics, including politics, current affairs, economy and culture.
The Senior Video Producer is a key member of the service, responsible for reporting on a wide range of news topics, including politics, economics, and international affairs. They are strategic thinkers with a strong creative vision, deep technical expertise, and excellent leadership skills. This role will be responsible for overseeing the production team, managing complex projects, and ensuring that all video content meets the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of video production, including pre-production, filming, and post-production.
Oversee video shoots, ensuring high-quality footage and smooth execution.
Develop and oversee the creative direction for video projects, ensuring alignment with objectives.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including website, social media, TV, and Newsgathering teams in multiple languages.
Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging formats, and best practices in video production.
Deliver accurate, comprehensive, and impactful news coverage across a variety of topics and regions.
Stay updated on video trends, tools, and best practices to enhance production quality.
Edit and review video content, ensuring consistency in branding and storytelling.
Manage production schedules, budgets, and resources efficiently.
Coordinate with planning desks and streamline coverage of major news events.
Work with AI tools on the production of video.
Assist in the production and delivery of podcast programmes and news bulletins.
Demonstrate creative storytelling skills, technical expertise, and strong organisational abilities.
Implement and maintain best practices in video production, including the use of high-end equipment, software, and storytelling techniques.
Provide guidance and support to junior journalists and contribute to their professional development.
Be flexible to working weekends, late nights, and public holidays.
Requirements Minimum 5+ years of experience in video production, with a proven track record in a senior or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of production budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
Deep knowledge and interest in Iranian and international news and current affairs.
Strong knowledge of video production techniques, editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro), and camera equipment.
Able to keep up with social media video trends, leveraging social media trends to boost video success.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Experience with motion graphics, animation, or colour grading is a plus.
Proficiency in video editing and script writing.
Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work cooperatively as part of a large team, across different time zones.
Adaptability to evolving newsroom practices and technologies.
Excellent spoken and written proficiency in English and Farsi.
