Location: Remote – Anywhere in the contiguous US
Compensation: Anticipated compensation for this position is $29-30/hour.*
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Grant Writer to research, develop, and submit grant proposals to secure funding for K-12 education programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in grant writing, knowledge of the K-12 education landscape, and a track record of securing funding from state and federal agencies. This role requires excellent writing skills, project management abilities, and a deep understanding of educational funding needs.
Essential Job Functions
- Research and identify grant opportunities from state and federal agencies that align with K-12 education initiatives.
- Write compelling grant proposals to secure financial support.
- Work collaboratively with the Funding Department to develop highly competitive proposals.
- Effectively manage projects to ensure timely submission of proposals.
- Maintain a database of grant applications, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Education, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience grant writing
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of K-12 education programs and funding sources
- Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills
- Proven grant writing experience in the education or nonprofit sector
- Knowledge of federal and state education grants (e.g., school improvement, enrichment, after-school programs)
- Familiarity with grant databases such as Grants.gov and state funding opportunity websites
- Ability to manage multiple grant applications simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Asana
- Experience working with school districts, education nonprofits, or government agencies
