Advertising Product and Tech (AdPT) Finance is seeking an exceptional Applied Scientist to join our Economics and Science team. The most important questions the AdPT Finance Econ and Science team is trying to answer include: What are the long-term impacts of the new advertising initiatives? Where will Advertising’s growth come from in the next year? How big will the Advertising business become over the next three years? What are the interactions between consumer and Ads business?

This Data Scientist role will collaborate with economists, applied scientists, financial managers, and engineers to implement models and leverage large data to answer those questions. They will also have exposure to senior leadership as we communicate results and provide scientific guidance to the business.

A successful candidate will be a problem solver who excels in deploying science models to production environments, is excited by difficult modeling challenges, and possesses strong communication skills to effectively interact with the finance teams.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement models to forecast KPI and growth drivers for a variety of Amazon advertising products;
  2. Design and implement scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analysis, model development, validation, and deployment;
  3. Collaborate with scientist and engineering teams to deploy science models to production environments;
  4. Present models and model results to senior leaders and diverse stakeholders;
  5. Research innovative hybrid (ML+time series) forecasting methodologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 4+ years of data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience;
  2. 4+ years of data scientist experience;
  3. Experience in forecasting analyses;
  4. Bachelor's degree.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience managing data pipelines;
  2. Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team;
  3. Solid knowledge in time series / deep learning forecasting methods.
