Job Description

RSU 14 is seeking a qualified Long Term Substitute Music Teacher at the Windham Primary School.

The selected candidate must have the ability to create and maintain positive relations with students, school personnel, parents, and citizens, and to collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to maintain the high quality of services.

Below is a listing of the general duties of this position. This listing is not a detailed description of all position duties:

  1. Plan for and teach general music within an elementary school progression.
  2. Employ a variety of instructional strategies to ensure that students meet content standards and acquire essential skills and understanding of music.
  3. Employ an assessment plan which informs instruction and assesses student skills in music.
  4. Present the accomplishments of students through public and school-centered concerts shared with other performing sections.

Job Requirements

  • Prefer a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in K-12 Music Education and have or be eligible for a State of Maine Certification in Music (Endorsement 614). Selected candidate will be subject to criminal history background check.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
