We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Public Relations to lead our PR efforts.

Position Overview: As the Director of Public Relations, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic PR initiatives to enhance the visibility and reputation of Coles Marketing's clients. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our client's narrative, securing media coverage, and fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies to promote our clients' brands.
  2. Cultivate and maintain relationships with media contacts, journalists, industry influencers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  3. Lead the creation of compelling press releases, media pitches, thought leadership articles, and other written materials.
  4. Oversee media relations activities, including proactively pitching stories, managing press inquiries, and arranging media interviews.
  5. Identify opportunities for speaking engagements, award submissions, and other PR initiatives to showcase our agency's expertise and thought leadership.
  6. Collaborate with account teams to integrate PR efforts into overall client strategies and campaigns.
  7. Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities, assess risks, and adjust PR strategies as needed.
  8. Serve as a spokesperson for the agency and our clients, representing them in media interviews, speaking engagements, and other public forums.
  9. Manage crisis communications and develop strategies to protect and enhance our agency's reputation and that of our clients.
  10. Track and analyze PR metrics to measure the effectiveness of PR campaigns and initiatives, and provide regular reports to leadership.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, with a focus on the advertising, marketing, or creative industries.
  3. Proven track record of developing and executing successful PR campaigns that generate media coverage and drive brand awareness.
  4. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor a team of PR professionals.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for storytelling and attention to detail.
  6. Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of media relations, social media, and digital PR trends.
  7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including clients, media contacts, and industry influencers.
  9. Experience managing crisis communications and navigating sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion.
  10. Proficiency in PR measurement and analytics tools to track and report on the impact of PR efforts.
