Job Description:

ASG is seeking a UI/UX Designer for the Department of Defense (DoD) contract who will provide subject matter expertise to support agile development using iterative methodologies, translating user research into actionable interface requirements and workflows. They will produce high-quality solutions through wireframes, visual designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, and prototypes, rapidly iterating on design prototypes for AI/ML tools and applications. The designer will test usability, analyze metrics, and drive product updates to improve user experience, leveraging research and analytics. They will work closely with end-users to gather feedback, build user stories, and identify improvements using AI, ensuring user needs and behaviors are integrated into design decisions. Additionally, they will collaborate with mission and capability teams to define product goals and deliver intuitive, effective user interfaces.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide subject matter expertise to support agile development using methodologies based on iterative development, requirements and solutions.
  • Translate user research information into actionable user interface requirements and workflows.
  • Produce high-quality solutions through hybrid wireframe and visual designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps and prototypes.
  • Rapidly iterate on design prototypes and working applications that contribute to the design, development, and testing of AI/ML tools and delivery methods.
  • Develop mock-up solutions that can be implemented quickly.
  • Test and validate usability by monitoring and reporting metrics, determining potential, leveraging research and analytics to drive product updates and improved user experience.
  • Apply the principles, methods and techniques of user-based design with an in-depth knowledge of complex computer-based systems to support capabilities that include development of artificial intelligence solutions.
  • Support technical activities of the end users identifying mission goals, desired metrics, data standards and user workflows.
  • Work with end-users to build and analyze user stories to identify common users’, system, software and interface requirements for capability design and development.
  • Identify end user processes, software and other mission issues that could be improved using AI.
  • Capture and formulate final articulation of user needs that will define the broader user experience by gathering and incorporating end-user feedback from user interviews, usability tests, surveys, data analysis, and similar methods.
  • Design and prototype specific AI or ML solutions. Understand user needs, behaviors, and motivations.
  • Work closely with Mission and Capability Delivery teams to help determine product goals.
  • Collaborate with team members on user research, customer testing, and iterative feedback loops.

What We Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7-10 years experience, or a Master’s Degree plus 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with usability testing, including preparing test plans and associated wireframes, facilitating test sessions, analyzing data, and reporting and presenting results.
  • Experience with creating and documenting information design concepts and solutions by various means, including wireframes, prototypes, and task flow diagrams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrate experience and capability to make presentations to and interact with end-users.
  • Must have prior experience conducting user interviews and contextual inquiries.
  • Experience with user tracking and metrics tooling such as Matomo.
  • Experience with visualization of user metrics using Qlik and/or Tableau.

Nice to Have:

  • Any usability/UX related certification (e.g., CUA).

Clearance Required:

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Possess a minimum of an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
