Key Responsibilities:

  1. Writing high-quality winning proposal documents, including producing, coordinating, and editing written content.
  2. Managing the submissions process if required.
  3. Contributing to the bid team at key stages of individual tender projects, gathering technical information from internal departments in order to compile and ensure a high-quality bespoke solution is offered to the client.
  4. Actively participating in storyboarding and development of strategic themes.
  5. Ensuring all proposals are prepared in line with tender programme requirements.
  6. Ensuring submissions are produced to the highest quality and aligned with company bid management standards.
  7. Responsible for proofreading material and providing technical and commercial writing skills.
  8. Assisting with development of bespoke proposals, best practice information, technique guides, template answers, and style sheets.
  9. Building and developing relationships with a variety of business sector teams.

Requirements:

To be considered for this Bid Writer vacancy you will likely have the following attributes:

  1. You strive for high quality and take pride in your work.
  2. Previous employment as a Bid Writer, Bid Manager, Proposals Manager, Proposals Engineer, Submissions Manager, Tender Writer, Bid Author, or Bid Coordinator.
  3. Ideally previous main contractor employment; alternatively, candidates with previous experience in subcontractors and consultancies will also be considered.
  4. Ideally previous experience in highways/civils sector; building/construction project experience will also be considered.
  5. Preferably degree qualified in a subject with a high focus on creating high-quality written work.
  6. Industry-specific knowledge of Bid Writing within the construction market.
  7. Exceptional writing, editing, and copywriting skills.
  8. Excellent English language (vocabulary), grammar, and communication skills.
  9. Adaptable to deal with changing project requirements and deadlines.
  10. Familiarity with Microsoft and other desktop publishing software packages.
  11. A naturally inquisitive nature to challenge ideas and provide new innovative solutions.

Location:
Working out of their Northampton office, along with some remote working included.
