The Director of Technical Marketing and Business Development role is ideal for an ambitious, energetic, motivated individual looking for new career challenges with a proven product and application track record, who is customer application focused with excellent technical and communication skills.
In this position, you will demonstrate technical domain expertise and adept communication skills to enable the technical success of our partners and customers developing wireless powered IoT solutions based on Energous technology products. The role will be focused on leading technical guidance and support to partners and customers, define and deliver training programs, technical documentation, competitive insights, partner toolkits, technical demonstrations, and development support. The role is very strategic as it represents the technical and business development face of Energous to our customers.

Furthermore, this role will be the gatekeeper along with the engineering team of Energous product roadmaps and will provide guidance to System Engineering and IC design Engineering teams on IP development and technology development Energous will need to intercept to stay ahead of the competition.
The position entails a significant level of influence internally with other technology and market groups within Energous and externally, the position requires good leadership and management skills, application-level instincts, experience, and insights to help develop and nurture the development of industry-leading products and contribute to new future product definition concepts that deliver strong financial returns for the company.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Drive multi-million-dollar partnership initiatives with key strategic partners
- Lead complex negotiations and structure innovative partnership models
- Influence product strategy through deep market insights and partner feedback
- Build and execute go-to-market strategies with key partners
- Responsible for setting product strategy and roadmap development for Tx, Rx and Software
- Customer facing, customer support and new product promotion
- Pricing approvals, which includes working with various internal stakeholders to analyze costs and developing & negotiating pricing agreements
- Lead the role as a technical bridge between our customers and sales and various engineering teams
- Work closely with sales, product marketing, and partners to support and drive sales opportunities
- Be the product domain specialist while working with the technical enablement team to educate both colleagues and partners on new products, building solutions, and best practices
- Generate and maintain technical documents, product application notes, videos, and sample code
- Design, conduct, analyze, and communicate test results on our products for the purposes of recommended best practices, optimizing solutions, and supporting engineering, marketing, and product management
- Identify and document applied knowledge of products and benchmark against competition
- Design and present demonstrations for training, industry tradeshows, and proof of concepts
Qualifications:
- This position requires a Bachelor’s or Master Degree in Engineering, Technical
- A minimum of 15 years’ industry experience in wireless communication, and general broad market RF wireless power applications.
- Proven experience in successfully bringing new product technologies and solutions to market and driving customer adoption.
- Demonstrable customer empathy and experience in identification of customer needs as well as an understanding of customer-focused design practices.
- Ability to develop insights about customers application issues and under application value creation.
- Ability to work equally well in external facing roles and communicate and operate as a communication bridge across all internal development teams.
- Ability to articulate strategy and vision across and through all layers, internally and externally of an organization.
- Be well versed in presenting (or interacting with) executive stakeholders
- Demonstration of business innovation with a view to enabling new customers and application engagements
