ABOUT THE ROLE

The YouTube Producer will oversee video content production, from concept to execution, ensuring each piece aligns with our brand and audience expectations. You'll work closely with creators, videographers, editors, and strategists to produce high-performing videos that grow our channel and engage our audience.

WORKING HOURS & LOCATION

This role requires you to be located around San Diego, area for on-set collaboration. Bias will be given to San Diego applicants. We will also consider applicants in LA who are open to intermittent travel.

What we're looking for:

  • THE MINIMUM: Own, run, manage, and execute all facets of producing 4 to 8+ Long-form videos/month + 30 - 40 short-form videos a month. Running the team, managing schedules, and focusing on getting high-quality video done.
  • NEED: Expert in all things YouTube production. You live in the YouTube Studio, you can read a retention chart, and know what's trending, how to decipher CTR/AVD, and how to implement lessons learned into new content.
  • MUST: An EXPERT in shooting and producing videos on iOS and Sony
  • A BIG PLUS: If you have built YouTube, Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook channels and pages to 50k+ subscribers, followers, and community members.
  • GOTTA HAVE: An unyielding thirst to create and are on top of it with a calendar (we move quickly, and we gotta have organization!)
  • A LOVE: For all things social and viral (Top 5 creators, go. No seriously, tell us who and why)
  • THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: They have exceptional attention to detail and be open to feedback throughout the creative process as well as being a people person.
  • BUT OF COURSE: Expert-level experience with social media content creation
  • TALENT: Have worked with digital YouTube content creators and high-profile talent who may have different styles, and schedules, and you know how to vibe and bring the best out of them


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pre-Production:

  • Understand how to be mobile-first in producing content on iPhone and optimized for multiple social channels (e.g. Long form, Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, IG and beyond)
  • Identify and jump on trends to ensure our brand is operating at the speed of culture
  • Researching trends and tactics for retention against YouTube algorithm
  • Develop compelling video concepts and episode ideas that align with our brand's mission and audience interests.
  • Plan and schedule shoots, securing locations, talent, and necessary production elements.

Production:

  • Oversee and direct on-set video shoots, ensuring high-quality visuals, clear storytelling, and engaging pacing.
  • Provide creative direction to on-screen talent, helping them deliver natural and engaging performances.
  • Ensure efficient and well-organized filming processes to maximize content output.

Post-Production & Optimization:

  • Analyzing and reviewing video stats, data, and analytics after posting content (so we can see what's hitting and what's not)
  • Work closely with editors to ensure videos meet brand standards, storytelling goals, and platform best practices.
  • Review and provide feedback on cuts, ensuring pacing, engagement, and audience retention are prioritized.
  • Optimize video titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails for maximum reach and discoverability.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS & PERKS

Our production organization looks to hire the BEST of the best and we focus on finding candidates who are a strong cultural fit. We have a 3 month 'Discovery Period' in place that allows us to get to know each new hire better and assess their skill set.

  • This is a contract-to-hire role with a starting contract/1099 basis for 90 days.
  • Qualified applicants can expect a weekly salary of $1500 during the contract period
