The Senior Designer leads visual design for the Mental Health Studio, supporting co-creation of journey-driven recommendations that inform omnichannel products and services. They will be responsible for creating sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, presentations, workshop materials, research stimuli, and video highlight reels. Reporting to the head of UX, this person will collaborate daily with a small, cross-functional consumer experience team to drive the creation or improvement of mental health programs and services across the enterprise. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Build design artifacts based on analytics, user research, and best practices, including UX prototypes, research stimuli, and workshop materials. Apply UX best practices to visualize and evaluate complex user flows through omnichannel experiences. Bring research and strategy to life through compelling visual storytelling at stakeholder demos and workshops. Regularly share work, accept design feedback, and refine designs based on feedback received. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in user experience or user interface design, with a solid portfolio demonstrating creativity and user-centered design solutions. 5+ years of understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and usability best practices. 3+ years of using industry-standard design tools including Figma to document designs and create prototypes. Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and best practices. Proficiency in designing for both digital and non-digital experiences, ideally in healthcare or mental health settings. Proven excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with solid attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to share a work sample or portfolio. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in iterative, agile environments. Experience collaborating directly with strategy or innovation teams. Knowledge of human-centered design and journey mapping. Demonstrated ability to ideate and provide multiple solutions. *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy. The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
