Position Summary

The creative department at Pereira O’Dell is responsible for creating and executing ambitious work for our clients and brands. A Social Associate Creative Director at Pereira O’Dell is part of the “engine” that consistently delivers interesting social-first content and campaigns.

Please note: This will start out as a contract position, but could potentially convert to full-time.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee team(s) of copywriters, art directors, and designers to concept, create and design impactful social content on multiple social channels, both for organic and paid.
  • Guide, teach and push members of the team in developing concepts that are socially relevant and on brand for clients.
  • Support and inspire those you lead to make their work great, ready to give up ownership of ideas, so long as they meet POD standards.
  • Work on multiple clients and brands in a fast-paced environment
  • Know how to be efficient with resources based on deliverables in any given month of social content.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team on implementation feasibility to ensure conceptual ideas are realizable.
  • Present work to clients, building their confidence in our ideas and execution abilities.
  • Oversee the creative through production, including attending in-person full shoot days as needed.
  • Travel to client meetings, when required.
  • Be attentive and react quickly to trending topics in culture
  • Be up for taking a stab at any and all briefs, bringing proactive social ideas to clients/brands when the opportunity arises
  • Ensure consistency and adherence to client brand standards

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review all key project deliverables and all Creative Briefs to assure correct level of project aspiration and accountability
  • Work with internal and external strategic partners to create products using the most current industry best practices
  • Generate ideas to help pitch and win new business, especially focused on social accounts
  • Proactively researches and pursues ideas for professional development
  • Be curious about all of the agency’s clients
  • Ask questions at briefings
  • Awareness of content strategy, content marketing and search marketing practices

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • At least 7+ years of industry experience concepting, writing, and producing social content for a brand, publisher or platform.
  • Strong creative portfolio highlighting relevant/category experience and industry award winning work
  • Capable of directing creatives to come up with conceptual ideas that show an understanding of the target’s needs or mindset.
  • With guidance, is able to digest content provided by the client, brand management, other agencies or from own research and understand how it should be broken down to meet a brief and how best to organize it
  • Key member of the creative team and an integrated content developer
  • Assists team members from all disciplines
  • Solid verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to all levels of clients
  • Excellent understanding of social media channels, tools and trends, including creator/influencer trends
  • Efficiently manage a large workload under pressure and tight deadlines
