About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual with a strong understanding of Christian theological studies and experience with research processes to join our Library team in the role of permanent full-time Academic Liaison Librarian.

Reporting to the Head Librarian and working within a friendly and experienced team, you will:

  • Contribute to building the College’s research collection
  • Provide and develop research support to the College community according to best practice
  • Promote the library throughout the research community
  • Provide quality customer service to library users, including students, faculty and members of the public
  • Contribute to the development of information literacy skills among library users

About you

The successful candidate will meet the following essential selection criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Christian Theology and/or Library and Information Services
  • Experience in an accredited higher education provider of Christian theological studies (e.g. in an academic or library context)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the nature of a research library, particularly as it relates to the study of Christian theology
  • Demonstrated experience in the research process and the ability to use initiative and creativity to support researchers
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues surrounding the delivery of high quality, client focused library services and the ability to communicate effectively with library stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work within the digital environment
  • Knowledge of referencing systems (e.g. SBL Society of Biblical Literature)
  • Ability to support and promote the Christian Vision, Mission and Values of Moore Theological College

It is desirable that you also have:

  • Eligibility for Associate membership of ALIA
  • Experience in the provision of library and information services within a higher education research library environment
  • Completed (or working towards the completion of) a postgraduate research award in a relevant discipline from an accredited higher education provider
  • Understanding of the Sydney Anglican diocese
