George Fox University's Murdock Library is seeking a highly skilled and motivated team player to fill the role of Research and Instruction Librarian.
About the job:
As a member of the librarian team, the Research and Instruction Librarian partners with teaching faculty to understand their research and information needs, offers research services to students and faculty, and delivers instructional sessions.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as liaison to various departments. Partnering with teaching faculty to understand resource needs.
- Developing and teaching information literacy sessions in support of program and course objectives.
- Providing research consultations in person and via phone, email, and Zoom.
- Creating and maintaining libguides for subjects and specific classes.
- Participating in professional groups and associations for personal development.
- Occasional travel between library locations.
- Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public.
- Being a Christian role model to students.
- Demonstrated experience working cross-culturally with respect, appreciation, and humility.
- Other duties as assigned.
We're looking for candidates who have:
- Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
- A commitment to the University's Theology of Racial and Ethnic Diversity.
- A desire to work with a diverse community of students and employees.
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church.
Preference will be given to those who have the following attributes:
- Academic library experience.
- Record of ongoing professional development.
- Experience providing research consultation and information literacy instruction.
Salary and Rank:
- Appointment at the Assistant Librarian level is anticipated, though candidates with significant experience may be considered for the rank of Associate Librarian.
