This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary: Greet patrons who come into the library and provide exemplary customer service while working the Circulation Desk at the Hugh and Hazel Darling Law Library.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet every person who enters the library
  2. Assist all individuals who come up to the Circulation Desk
  3. Enforce library policies and procedures
  4. Check-in all materials being returned to the Library or check-out items to users
  5. Reserve Study Rooms for Law Students
  6. Locate library materials and pull them off the shelf for patrons
  7. Put returned library materials back in proper location in correct order
  8. Maintain the physical collection
  9. Answer and assist customers over the phone
  10. Record library statistics
  11. Assist students with printing and library equipment needs
  12. Depending on shifts worked may Close or Open the library
  13. Assist with additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be personable
  • Have previous customer service experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Some experience working in a library setting
  • Knowledge of Library of Congress Classification system
  • Flexible schedule and willing to pickup extra-hours
  • Available to work nights and weekends
