An established, Las Vegas based Live Entertainment Company is seeking a highly experienced Creative Director to lead the development of an all-new 85-minute live production show set for a 3-5 year residency in an iconic Las Vegas Resort and Casino venue.
This individual will be responsible for conceptualizing and structuring the production, overseeing artistic direction, and ensuring creative alignment with budgetary and operational requirements.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 10-12 years of experience with a demonstrable track record as a Creative Director for multimillion-dollar live entertainment productions. They must possess a strong creative vision, deep expertise in live show development, and the leadership skills to execute a large-scale production successfully.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Development & Pre-Production Leadership
- Develop a fully realized creative concept aligned with the Las Vegas entertainment market.
- Design a compelling and cohesive “run of show” that balances storytelling, audience engagement, and performance elements.
- Lead brainstorming sessions, conceptual workshops, and design meetings to refine creative direction.
- Collaborate with writers, music directors, choreographers, and designers to create a distinct visual and artistic identity for the production.
- Oversee the development of storyboards, pre-visualization renderings, and initial production blueprints for scenic, lighting, and multimedia integration.
Team Assembly & Collaboration
- Identify, recruit, and manage a high-caliber creative team, including choreographers, set designers, lighting designers, music directors, and costume designers.
- Align all creative team members under a unified artistic vision.
- Facilitate effective communication between the creative and production teams to ensure seamless execution.
Production Design & Technical Planning
- Work closely with set, lighting, and special effects designers to ensure the production’s visual elements are technically feasible within the venue’s specifications.
- Guide the integration of multimedia elements, projection mapping, and special effects to enhance audience immersion.
- Collaborate with technical directors to ensure efficient stage transitions, automation, and live performance logistics.
Budget Planning & Resource Management
- Develop and oversee a structured creative execution plan that aligns with the weekly budget.
- Work within strict financial parameters to prioritize cost-effective creative solutions while maintaining high production value.
- Negotiate vendor contracts and allocate resources efficiently to maximize creative output.
Script, Music, and Choreography Development
- Oversee scriptwriting, dialogue pacing, and scene structure, ensuring they align with the show’s entertainment goals.
- Collaborate with composers and music directors to develop original compositions or select licensed music that fits the show’s tone.
- Work with choreographers to ensure movement, dance, and physical performances enhance the storytelling and audience experience.
Casting & Talent Selection
- Lead casting calls and identify talent that aligns with the show’s artistic and commercial vision.
- Work closely with talent agencies and casting directors to secure performers capable of sustaining a long-term residency.
- Conduct workshops with selected cast members to fine-tune performances before rehearsals begin.
Rehearsal & Technical Run-Through Planning
- Structure and oversee the entire rehearsal schedule, ensuring that all elements—choreography, music, technical cues—are integrated effectively.
- Supervise blocking, transitions, and staging to ensure the show maintains fluidity and energy.
- Develop a technical cue book, stage manager documentation, and run-of-show guidelines to ensure precision during performances.
Market Awareness & Audience Appeal Optimization
- Ensure the production resonates with tourist demographics and local entertainment expectations.
- Work closely with marketing teams to align pre-opening promotional materials (trailer production, teaser campaigns, press previews) with the show’s creative identity.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 10-12 years of experience as a Creative Director, Show Creator, or equivalent in large-scale live entertainment productions.
- A proven track record of launching and managing multimillion-dollar productions with long-term commercial success.
- Experience working on Las Vegas residency shows, spectacle-driven productions, magic and illusion shows, comedy shows, sports entertainment, or family-friendly live productions.
- Strong network of industry contacts across live entertainment, theater, and production design.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with high-tech stage productions, interactive entertainment, or spectacle-driven performances.
