MicroStation Drafter – Civil Projects (Residential & Commercial) | Houston, TX

Position Overview

We are seeking a MicroStation Drafter with experience in civil projects, including residential and commercial developments, to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong drafting skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate with engineers and designers to produce high-quality plans and drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise civil engineering drawings, site plans, and construction documents using MicroStation.
• Work on residential and commercial land development projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway designs.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet project specifications and local codes.
• Incorporate redlines, revisions, and feedback into existing drawings.
• Maintain and organize project files, ensuring accuracy and version control.
• Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Assist in preparing exhibits, maps, and as-built documentation as required.
• Coordinate with survey teams, architects, and other disciplines to integrate designs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proficiency in MicroStation (OpenRoads experience is a plus).
• 2+ years of drafting experience in civil engineering projects (residential & commercial preferred).
• Strong understanding of grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway design.
• Ability to interpret and draft from engineering sketches, markups, and specifications.
• Familiarity with local Houston-area civil codes, standards, and regulations is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is beneficial but not required.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with engineers and project stakeholders.

Education & Experience

• Associate’s degree or certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or Civil Engineering (preferred).
• Relevant work experience in land development, site design, and civil projects.
