Thin Film Engineer
with expertise in
magnetron sputtering
will focus on the development, optimization, and characterization of thin-film deposition processes for applications in [industry-specific applications, e.g., semiconductors, optics, or protective coatings]. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with sputtering systems, process development, and material characterization techniques.
This is an opportunity to be involved in the R&D phase before production begins. This technology is new, it's GREEN and impactful!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Operates coating equipment for the production and development of energetic Thin Film coatings Performs chamber and materials preparation, substrate loading, and coating startup and finish Monitors coating and chamber parameters to ensure the process is under control Optimize parameters to ensure coating quality, uniformity, and adhesion Perform various analysis of coated materials
KEY REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree in Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or any other related subject that had a strong focus on glow discharge processes 5 years of experience working directly with vacuum coaters – large drum coater preferred Extensive magnetron sputtering experience Attention to detail: Excellent focus and the ability to follow precise procedures. Problem-solving skills: The ability to troubleshoot equipment or process issues. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent verbal and written communication skills Basic computer proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel US Citizenship
Preferred Education and Experience: Masters degree in Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related subject Familiarity with thermites and pyrotechnics
