Occupational Summary:
The Instructor of Music and Piano Accompanist at a private college is responsible for keyboard accompaniment for musical performances and teaching and mentoring students in piano and organ. This role involves delivering engaging instruction and fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes musical growth and academic excellence.

Work Performed:
- Teach applied piano and organ courses.
- Provide piano accompaniment for performance students and a choral ensemble.
- Provide piano accompaniment for musical productions and events.
- Provide individualized instruction and mentorship to students, supporting their artistic and academic development.
- Stay updated on current trends and advancements in music education and performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental meetings and initiatives.
- Engage in professional development activities and maintain active involvement in the music community.
- Complete University-required trainings including Title IX and FERPA.
- Contribute to the overall success of the Theatre and Music departments by performing all other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position.
Required Education/Experience/Skills/Training:
- Master’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field.
- Proficiency as a piano accompanist.
- Experience in piano and organ instruction at the collegiate level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage students in a diverse learning environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
