Job Description Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized support for students with visual impairments in a school district in Massachusettss near Framingham, MA . As a TVI, you will play a critical role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, ensuring that students with visual impairments have access to the tools, resources, and instruction they need to succeed academically and socially. Key Responsibilities Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments in both individual and group settings. Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt and modify lessons, assignments, and assessments to meet the needs of students with visual impairments. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address each student's specific needs. Assess students' vision and functional vision to guide instructional planning and development of accommodations. Provide support and training to school staff on best practices for working with students with visual impairments. Work with families to provide resources and guidance in supporting their child's education. Ensure students have access to assistive technology, braille, and other tools as needed. Participate in IEP meetings and other school meetings as required. Qualifications Bachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or a related field. Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). Experience working with students with visual impairments, preferably in a school setting. Knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and specialized materials for students with visual impairments. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
