Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs). Teach Braille, assistive technology, and other adaptive skills. Modify curriculum and teaching materials for accessibility. Train students in orientation and mobility skills in collaboration with specialists. Support the use of adaptive tools like screen readers, magnification devices, and tactile graphics. Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure inclusive learning. Advocate for accessibility in classrooms and school environments. Provide guidance on social and independent living skills for visually impaired students. Keep records of student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Required Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education, Vision Impairment, or a related field. Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) (requirements vary by state or country). Experience working with visually impaired students is preferred. Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive teaching strategies. Skills & Competencies: Strong communication and collaboration skills. Patience and adaptability to meet diverse student needs. Proficiency in using and teaching assistive technology. Ability to create inclusive and engaging lesson plans.
