Job Description Job Description Minimum 1 years visually impaired experience required. Job Posting: Teacher for the Visually Impaired (Contract Position) Location : Farmington, MO Position Type : Contract (Full-time/Part-time) ProCare Therapy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to work in a school setting in Farmington, MO. This contracted position will provide specialized instruction and services to students with visual impairments to support their academic and functional success. Responsibilities : Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments. Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students needs. Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and parents to support students development. Assist in the use of assistive technology and adaptive materials. Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' progress and needs. Stay updated on the latest research and best practices for working with students with visual impairments. Current Caseload : 2 students receiving VI services: One with 30 minutes per week (MPW) One with 15 minutes per week (MPW) 1 student who will be receiving a functional vision assessment as part of their next evaluation. If the student qualifies, VI services will be added to their next IEP. Qualifications : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education with a focus on Visual Impairments, or related field. Valid teaching certification in the state of Missouri for Teaching Visually Impaired students. Knowledge of braille, low vision aids, and assistive technology for students with visual impairments. Experience working with students with visual impairments and knowledge of IEP development. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and students.
