Position Overview:
Content instructional assistants will be responsible for providing support to students throughout the school based upon student academic needs. They will primarily assist in the delivery of tier 2 and be under the supervision of the MTSS coach. These duties will include providing literacy and other intervention instruction to students in small groups, and providing support inside classrooms to assist the teachers in providing engaging activities for students. Professional development for these IAs will be focused upon implementing specific intervention programs in the areas of reading and math and other instructional strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional assistance as needed.
- Follow the IEP as written and developed by the teacher of record.
- Perform all duties as indicated by the supervising teachers and the administration.
Qualifications:
- The preferred candidate will be a licensed elementary teacher; at least 48 college credits; an associates degree or willing to take and achieve a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment prior to beginning work.
- The preferred candidate will have experience working with elementary aged children.
- The preferred candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively.
