Position: Director, Executive Communications Reports To: SVP, Communications Marketing & Public Engagement Department: Communications, Marketing and Public Engagement Salary Grade: Q Salary Range: $97,700 - $122,200 Position Summary: The Director of Executive Communications serves as the communications support for Atlanta Housing’s executive leads, supporting stakeholder engagements including speaking opportunities, guest bylines, employee townhalls, client presentations, social media presence, and other activities. This role orchestrates the alignment, efficacy, and accuracy of messaging while amplifying the voices that humanize Atlanta Housing and foster a sense of trust and connection with the organization. A storyteller by nature, the individual in this role thrives in highly collaborative, fast-paced environments. The ideal candidate is an extremely strong writer and editor who can identify the appropriate tone and nuanced style for AH’s thought leaders. The candidate will have the ability to learn and write in various voices and will be a strong listener comfortable spending time with executives and understanding their priorities and viewpoints. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Speechwriting: Draft compelling speeches, op-eds, and high-level correspondence for executive leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Messaging Development: Create messaging and talking points for executive appearances and presentations, maintaining consistency and impact. Strategic Alignment: Ensure all executive communications reflect and support the organization's strategic objectives and brand voice; develop thoughtful communications plans for AH’s CEO, engaging with the executive office to prioritize outreach to employees, partners, and the media, and building narratives tied to organization strategy and goals; develop content pillars that reflect key perspectives for executive thought leaders in the company. Content Contribution: Provide executive-focused content for media and marketing materials, enhancing the organization's public image; manage editorial calendar and multimedia distribution strategy across social, earned, and owned channels. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field; Master’s preferred. 8 years of experience in executive communications or leadership content development. Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen understanding of strategic messaging. Ability to work closely with senior leadership and manage confidential information. Proven track record of simplifying complex matters and indexing high on storytelling across multiple stakeholders. Deep understanding of content marketing and thought leadership initiatives with experience writing/editing/producing for multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to understand and write in others’ voices. Working Conditions: Works in an office environment.
