Lyquix, Philadelphia’s award-winning digital agency has an opening! We are looking for a Mid-Level Graphic Designer to work on ongoing projects for a wide array of clients including nationally recognizable brands. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation, be self-motivated, with a curiosity and penchant for learning, and a desire to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Typical Duties

As a Mid-Level Graphic Designer at Lyquix, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality design solutions. You will work independently on well-defined and scoped tasks, contributing to the creation and refinement of visually engaging, user-centered designs across digital, print, and branding projects.

Your work will extend across digital and print media, with a strong emphasis on designing user interfaces, crafting user experiences, and ensuring brand consistency.

Your role involves collaborating with developers, project managers, and other designers to implement creative solutions that align with client goals and user needs. While you’ll primarily focus on your assigned tasks, you’ll also have opportunities to provide input on improving workflows, processes, and creative outcomes.

Web and Digital Design

  • Design user interfaces (UI) for websites, web apps, and mobile apps.
  • Craft intuitive user pathways and flows.
  • Develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to visualize and refine designs.
  • Create visually engaging animations and micro-interactions.
  • Ensure text, visuals, and multimedia are aligned with design goals.

Branding and Visual Design

  • Contribute to the development of brand identities, including logos, typography, and color schemes, under guidance.
  • Design assets for digital platforms and print materials, ensuring consistency with branding guidelines.
  • Create promotional materials such as banners, brochures, and event collateral to meet client objectives.

Content and Information Design

  • Support the creation of visuals for complex data presentations.
  • Collaborate with content creators to ensure alignment between design and content strategy.
  • Optimize designs for readability, accessibility, and SEO best practices.

Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Work closely with developers, project managers, content creators, and other Designers to ensure seamless integration of design with development and functionality.
  • Provide feedback to more junior Designers to support their growth and contribute to team quality.

Accessibility and Usability

  • Ensure designs comply with accessibility standards, usability principles, and cross-platform compatibility.
  • Support usability testing to gather feedback and refine designs accordingly.

Client Interaction

  • Participate in client meetings to present designs, gather feedback, and refine creative direction.
  • Communicate design decisions clearly, providing rationale for creative and technical choices.

Activity and Time Tracking

  • Accurately track time and activity for projects using Lyquix’s project management tools.
  • Provide status updates to project managers and clients.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Graphic Design, Interactive Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, or comparable work experience.
  • 3-6 years of experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing work in branding, web design, and digital media.

Web and Digital Design:

  • Proficiency in designing responsive user interfaces (UI) for websites, and web apps.
  • Working knowledge of interaction design principles.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards and usability best practices.
  • Familiarity with designing email templates and graphics.

Branding and Visual Design:

  • Proficiency in creating assets for both digital and print media.
  • Working knowledge of developing comprehensive brand identities.
  • Working knowledge of layout, composition, typography, visual hierarchy, and color theory.

Content and Information Design:

  • Working knowledge of creating designs that optimize readability and user engagement.
  • Familiarity with information design principles.

Tools and Software:

  • Proficiency in design software such as Figma, Adobe XD, and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Working knowledge of photo editing, and creating and editing of vector graphics and illustrations.
  • Working knowledge of optimizing image files, including selecting appropriate file formats.
  • Working knowledge of collaboration and project management tools.
  • Familiarity with animation and motion design tools like Adobe After Effects, Lottie, or similar software.

General Skills:

  • Working knowledge of design best practices, workflows, and processes.
  • Working knowledge of sourcing creative inspiration and staying updated on design trends.
  • Working knowledge of exploring design tools features, troubleshooting software issues, and leveraging official documentation and forums.
  • Working knowledge of researching and applying design techniques to solve challenges and achieve goals.
  • Working knowledge of communicating with third-party photo, video, and production teams.
  • Familiarity with project management concepts and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered tools for design workflows.
