Content Production Studio Lead Job at Swan Beauty in Birmingham

Background: SWAN is a start-up in the beauty tech space. This year, we’re launching a product with both consumer and business applications. Our ambition is to make our device an indispensable companion for the many ways people make up, care for, and share their faces with the world. Producing a high volume of original video content year-round is mission-critical. We’re about to complete an internal production studio for this purpose, where we’ll produce a mix of evergreen, seasonal, and topical content. This content will range in production value and be distributed via social media and our product ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage the in-house production studio, overseeing all aspects of content creation.
2. Shoot people and products in both studio and remote locations.
3. Stage and light sets, operate cameras, and handle sound recording.
4. Direct talent and crew during filming to ensure high-quality output.
5. Perform post-production work, including editing, visual effects, motion graphics, and sound design.
6. Color grade and finalize video content for various platforms (social media, website, presentations, etc.).
7. Engage in graphic design tasks such as photo editing, layouts, mood boards, and mock-ups.
8. Maintain the content management system, including data and asset management.
9. Structure and process raw files from shoots to our server.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in a content production role, with a strong portfolio showcasing technical skills and creative talent.
3. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
4. Strong understanding of video production, editing, and post-production processes.
5. Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
