Overview
Audiovisual/ Video Telecommunications Analyst:
Bowhead is seeking an Audiovisual/ Video Telecommunications Analyst for the upcoming DTRA Multimedia Support Services effort in Fort Belvoir, VA. This upcoming program will provide printing, photography-videography, graphics, and audiovisual/VTC (AV/VTC) support services to the DTRA VI Division in support of the Agency.
Responsibilities
- Operating the VTC and AV equipment in compliance with DTRA standards and operating procedures and manufacturer instructions.
- The AV/VTC Support Technician shall provide on-site support in facilitating and setting up special events, whether internal or external to DTRC. This support consists of serving as the primary point-of-contact (POC) for the Conferencing Center use and operations for AV/VTC, scheduling and coordinating all customer requirements in advance of conferencing events or VTC sessions located in 29 conference and meeting rooms located in DTRC and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). It includes scheduling and operating sessions with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Global Video Services (GVS) internet protocol (IP)-based VTC service.
- Receiving AV/VTC systems reservation requests from Agency personnel and contractors. When notified of the requirement, the AV/VTC Support Technician shall schedule the calls with the appropriate outside personnel and be present during the calls, as requested by the customer to provide support, maintain operations, and assist with AV/VTC support in the Executive Conference Room and Executive Briefing Room.
- Facilitating and assisting presenters with appropriate equipment requirements, including training users in certain media capabilities (i.e., PowerPoint presentations, laptop connections to the system, etc.) as requested.
- Scheduling reservation requirements for 12 conference and meeting rooms located in DTRC, maintaining the Customer Request Center Scheduling Calendar, which is the backbone of the Conference Center’s operation.
- Gathering information & making critical decisions on whether to approve requests for reservations based on a criterion of factors (room size, technical support availability, etc.).
- Coordinating with the technical support staff to maintain an understanding of the Conference Center’s current capabilities as required to converse informally with clients.
- Working and coordinating with the DTRA Webcasting team to support DTRA Directorate and stakeholders' needs.
- Providing arrangement/removal of equipment and furniture as required by the customer and maintaining reference binders on room layouts, procedures, maps, policies, etc.
- Ensuring optimal operational capability of all AV/VTC equipment installed at the DTRC site and 3 DLA conference rooms. The AV/VTC Support Technician shall provide in-depth feedback during the Periodic Review Meetings held once a quarter by the COR.
- Delivering and setting up DTRA-owned portable projectors, podiums, cordless speaking devices, and audio-visual equipment in specified locations for end-users as requested.
- Operating Government-provided audio and music to support events held by DTRA.
- Operating or assisting in operating session control panel, studio control unit, and high-resolution graphics.
- Working requires the Contractor to stand for extended periods during equipment operation and the ability to lift moderately heavy boxes (less than 50 pounds) of paper stocks or other supplies. There is some walking, standing, stooping, and bending in offices, production areas, control booths, warehouses, and work areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience with AV and VTC systems operation skills and qualifications operating equipment/systems that provide private sector conferencing services.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Apple Operating Systems, computer systems, computer client stations (including hardware and software), large screen video displays, wireless microphones and presenter timers, Microsoft Office Suite, and various interfaces to support different presentation platforms (i.e., Macintosh, PC, Windows XP, etc.).
- Knowledge of teleconferencing and AV equipment capabilities, methods, and protocols, as well as procedures for general visual effectiveness.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
- Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
