Digital Media Production Specialist

Rowan University is seeking a dynamic and strategic Digital Media Production Specialist to spearhead the growth of our online education offerings. This position is key in achieving Rowan University’s mission and goals including access, affordability, quality and economic impact.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work as part of a team to conceptualize and actualize creative video concepts from pre-production to delivery.
  2. Oversee the creation of style guides, shooting guidelines and researching ideas, new trends in technology and new ways of creating processes for pre-production through delivery.
  3. Set up and operate video equipment for recording lectures, presentations, and other academic events. Ensure high-quality audio and visual capture.
  4. Collaborate with subject-matter experts to plan and create storyboards for the creation and production of multimedia lecture content.
  5. Create videos that are engaging, visually appealing, and meet the project's goals.
  6. Coordinate shooting schedules with team and talent.
  7. Coordinate necessary crew, props and locations when necessary.
  8. Edit recorded footage to produce polished and professional videos. Apply necessary post-production techniques such as color correction, sound enhancement, and video transitions. Add graphics, captions, and special effects to videos as needed.
  9. Provide technical support and guidance to professors regarding video recording and media usage.
  10. Manage production system so that video content is properly tagged, categorized, and easily accessible.
  11. Maintain and troubleshoot video recording equipment. Stay updated on the latest video technology and software to ensure optimal performance.
  12. Track the analytics of online education content.
  13. Ensure all video content adheres to university policies, copyright laws, and accessibility standards.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years related professional experience in film production and videography.
  • Proven experience as a videographer.
  • Experience managing creative teams.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  • Strong understanding of video production techniques, including lighting, sound, and camera operation.
  • Strong production coordination skills focus on attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Function effectively, both independently and as a member of a team, with a willingness to assist with routine projects and tight timelines.
  • Strong understanding of online education trends, technologies, and customer needs.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven and results-oriented mindset.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with motion graphics and animation.
  • Experience creating training or educational style videos.
  • Experience working in an academic or institutional setting.
