Job Title: Music Teacher

Location: Montessori School

Position Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Grade Levels: Ages 3 years old to 8th grade

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our Montessori School team. The ideal candidate will inspire and nurture a love for music in students ranging from 3 years through 8th grade. This role involves not only teaching music theory and practical skills but also fostering creativity and self-expression through various musical activities. The music teacher will teach group lessons for students ages 5 years old through 8th grade from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. From 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the instructor will teach smaller afterschool extracurricular activities to students 3 years old through 8th grade.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with Montessori principles and caters to the diverse needs of students aged 5 to 14.
  2. Teach music classes that include vocal training, instrument instruction, music theory, and appreciation.
  3. Organize and lead extracurricular music activities, including after-school programs, performances, and music clubs.
  4. Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to explore and express their musical talents.
  5. Assess and evaluate student progress through regular feedback and assessments.
  6. Collaborate with other teachers to integrate music into the broader school curriculum.
  7. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and involvement in music programs.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
  2. Previous teaching experience, preferably in a Montessori or similar educational setting.
  3. Strong proficiency in one or more musical instruments and vocal performance.
  4. Knowledge of various music genres and teaching methods suitable for different age groups.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
