Location: Montessori School
Position Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Grade Levels: Ages 3 years old to 8th grade
Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our Montessori School team. The ideal candidate will inspire and nurture a love for music in students ranging from 3 years through 8th grade. This role involves not only teaching music theory and practical skills but also fostering creativity and self-expression through various musical activities. The music teacher will teach group lessons for students ages 5 years old through 8th grade from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. From 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the instructor will teach smaller afterschool extracurricular activities to students 3 years old through 8th grade.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with Montessori principles and caters to the diverse needs of students aged 5 to 14.
- Teach music classes that include vocal training, instrument instruction, music theory, and appreciation.
- Organize and lead extracurricular music activities, including after-school programs, performances, and music clubs.
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to explore and express their musical talents.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through regular feedback and assessments.
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate music into the broader school curriculum.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and involvement in music programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in a Montessori or similar educational setting.
- Strong proficiency in one or more musical instruments and vocal performance.
- Knowledge of various music genres and teaching methods suitable for different age groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
