Responsibilities

  • Accessibility & Compliance:
  • Serve as the primary UX liaison with our accessibility vendor(s), triaging accessibility issues and ensuring they are properly documented and prioritized.
  • Partner with development teams to guide remediation efforts and ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1+ and ADA best practices.
  • Conduct UX accessibility audits and support accessibility testing, including screen reader compatibility, keyboard navigation, and color contrast improvements.
  • Advocate for inclusive design principles throughout product development.
  • UX & Software Design:
  • Design new features and workflows to enhance usability across platforms.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows that align with user needs and business goals.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate UX concepts into functional designs.

  • Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and screen readers (e.g., Axe, JAWS, NVDA).
  • Strong experience with Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD for prototyping and wireframing.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end development principles (not required to code, but should understand technical feasibility).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working alongside developers, product managers, quality assurance, etc.
  • Experience in designing for government, outdoor recreation, or highly regulated industries is a plus.
