EMERGENCY RESPONSE STATUS: As a condition of employment, City of Largo employees will be required to work as directed during an undeclared and/or a declared emergency. All employees are subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the normal work location, and may include duties other than those specified in the official job description.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work Environment: 60% inside a climate controlled building; 40% outside which may include driving. This position requires extensive walking through both the interior and exterior of the building for up to 75% of their assigned shift.
Physical Requirements: The essential functions of the job require: frequent standing, occasional bending/stooping, kneeling, reaching, sitting, pushing, and occasional lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Sensory Requirements: Hearing: Ability to understand what others are saying in normal conversation in person and on the telephone. Speaking: Ability to communicate orally with others in person and on the telephone, and to be able to acknowledge instructions. Seeing: Ability to operate a vehicle, and read fine print.
Driving Requirements: Requires occasional driving and possession of a valid Florida Driver's License.
Technology: The work requires ability to operate telephones, smart phones, tablets, photocopiers, printers, desktop and/or laptop computers, calculators, camera security system and all associated software.

- Provides security at the City Library on various shifts (including checking the building for safety issues such as working with Fire Rescue on inspections, and/or working with Facilities on physical repairs and problems)
- Creates, submits, tracks and follows up on work orders regarding building maintenance and repair
- Addresses quality of life issues within the scope of the training provided
- Prepares incident reports in accordance with departmental policy
- Enforces Library Code of Conduct and City Ordinances
- Summons a sworn officer and supervisor in any situation for which the Library Security Guard deems a trespass warning, backup or arrest is warranted
- Uses cell phone and Vocera communication device
- Operates and monitors camera security system, including retrieving and saving images for reports and documentation of incidents
