The National Fire Protection Association's mission is to help save lives and reduce loss with information, knowledge and passion. Established in 1896, we are dedicated to the elimination of death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards. The Association delivers information and knowledge through more than 300 consensus codes and standards, research, training, education, outreach and advocacy; and by partnering with others who share an interest in furthering the NFPA mission.

In this role, the Web Content Manager creates and edits web pages following established content standards for consistency, style, tone, quality and UX. In this role you are responsible for publishing website content, including product updates and revisions, and ensuring SEO compliance and proper tagging for all pages and digital assets. Responsible for following rigorous QA workflow to validate work for accuracy using test environment as well as production.
Primary Duties/ Responsibilities:
Consistently demonstrate The NFPA Way by bringing Passion, being Bold, being Curious, getting Connected, and Owning it! Own the building of content on the NFPA website properties, including but not limited to products, research pages, blogs, and NFPA Journal. Address discrete web publishing tasks - eg. edit copy, change links, seasonal page changes, redirects Estimates, plans and organizes tasks to keep deliverables on track Coordinates with Senior Web Content Publisher and IT to report and follow-up on bugs and performance issues (test fixes), Creates web pages from graphic source files as required. Follows rigorous QA process through development and test of web pages. Works with the UX Manager, Senior Web Content Publisher, and others to make improvements to the websites to test and improve customer engagement. Works with SEO Manager to ensure content is developed using SEO best practices, and tagged appropriately for search. Plays a key part in contributing to the web taxonomy, and helps tagging pages as well as suggesting and creating new taxonomy terms (with approval of SEO Manager) to boost search. Responds to requests to analyze web data and regularly surface traffic trends to help inform content development decisions and enhance and refine online efforts. (Google Analytics) Identifies online challenges, opportunities, and solutions. Improves efficiency of online efforts and promote NFPA brand awareness. Assists in the establishment of project plans and milestones; ensure adherence to target dates and budgets. Provides coverage for Senior Web Content Publisher when necessary. Requirements
5 + years of related experience. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, degree in Communications, Computer Science or related field preferred. Sitecore or similar CMS experience a must. Excellent writing and oral communication skills. Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish is preferred Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite software, web browsers, HTML editors, Photoshop (or other similar imaging software), and social media platforms. Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy in execution of stated objectives.
