Job Description:
Saab Inc., Autonomous and Undersea Systems division is seeking an innovative and experienced
Designer/Drafter
to work with the Engineering team on CAD models, assemblies, and drawings for autonomous Unmanned Surface/Underwater Vehicles (AUSVs/AUVs) and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).
This position will be based in Quincy, MA .
Job Responsibilities:
Work with CAD tools (SolidWorks & SolidEdge) to create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and drawings.
Manage data using PDM systems and follow configuration management processes.
Create and maintain drawing templates and adhere to ANSI standards.
Implement manufacturability principles and review work to ensure standards are met.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support project components.
Follow established procedures and work with moderate guidance on projects.
Compensation Range: $75,500 - $94,400. Saab considers various factors when extending offers, including experience, skills, and market conditions.
Skills and Experience: Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years relevant experience
Proficiency in SolidWorks & SolidEdge
Experience with PDM systems and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Knowledge of tolerance stackup, BOM management, and weight tracking
Experience in design for manufacturability and creating mechanical/electrical drawings
Ability to convert CAD data into various formats
Preferred Requirements:
Associate’s degree or technical training
7+ years relevant experience
Additional Information:
Must be a U.S. citizen and pass security investigations.
Pre-employment drug screening required.
