Who are we looking for?
As a Technical Writer & Editor, you will play a critical role in our business development & engineering efforts by crafting and editing compelling, high-quality proposals, presentations, manuals and other marketing collateral. The ideal candidate brings a creative and organized lens to delivering products that clearly articulate our value proposition. This position is primarily focused on reviewing, editing, and restructuring information into professionally formatted products. You’ll distill RFI and RFP information into summaries and templates. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop well-structured, persuasive responses to government and commercial solicitations within a scheduled plan. You’ll work with subject matter experts to create user-friendly technical manuals for customers. You’ll also design and update templates and presentations in line with company branding for internal and external use.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in proposal writing, editing, or technical writing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear, compelling narratives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document formatting best practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with government contracting and proposal development
- Familiarity with proposal management tools
- Knowledge of the aerospace, defense, or technology sectors.
- Experience with designing proposal or presentation graphics
Responsibilities
- Distill information from solicitations into summaries & response templates.
- Collaborate with technical teams, program managers, and business development to develop clear, compliant, and persuasive proposal content.
- Ensure proposals align with company branding, messaging, and compliance requirements.
- Integrate received content into professionally formatted and visually appealing presentations, proposals, or other marketing collateral.
- Review and refine content for clarity, grammar, and overall effectiveness.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts on customer-facing documentation including presentations, program deliverables, technical manuals and product sheets.
- Maintain and update a database of reusable proposal content, graphics and templates.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by incorporating feedback and industry best practices.
