The
Digital Marketing Specialist (DMS)
plays a key role in executing ALS TDI's digital communications strategy across social media, email, and website. This role focuses on content development, working closely with the design team to craft visually compelling posts, emails, videos, and other digital assets that engage and inform our audience. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices, as well as experience in creating and optimizing digital content for awareness and fundraising efforts.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports to the Associate Vice President of Marketing and Brands. Essential Functions:
Collaborate with the MarComm team to plan and manage ALS TDI marketing efforts.
Develop and assess brands digital messaging to effectively communicate ALS TDI's brand, programs, and events.
Develop and manage content for ALS TDI's digital channels, ensuring consistency in messaging and brand voice across social media, email, and the website.
Oversee and execute the digital communications calendar, ensuring key messages are strategically distributed.
Collaborate with the marketing and design teams to produce engaging social media posts, email campaigns, videos, and other digital content.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics for social media, email, and website content to optimize engagement and effectiveness.
Manage and optimize bulk email communications, including content development, segmentation, and automation.
Work with marketing team to update and enhance website content to improve engagement and user experience.
Promote ALS TDI's signature events (e.g., Tri-State Trek, Ales for ALS) through digital channels.
Collaborate with the AVP of Marketing and Brands to refine lead generation and nurture strategies.
Oversee online storefront operations, including shipping and inventory.
Assist with program/event collateral development and mailing.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree required with 2-3 years of experience in digital and social media, including traditional and new media.
Location & Availability:
Must reside in the Greater Boston Area and work onsite one day/week; attend 3-4 ALS TDI Signature Events per year.
Social Media & Content Expertise:
Strong creativity with deep knowledge of social media platforms, content marketing, development, and publishing.
Marketing & Strategy:
Ability to balance creative and analytical marketing strategies; knowledge of SEO principles and search/social strategies.
Communication & Leadership:
Excellent English writing and communication skills (written, photo, video); team player with leadership skills in content creation and reputation management.
Customer Engagement Skills:
Experienced in social customer service, conflict resolution, and crisis management; strong technical skills and a quick learner.
Tools & Platforms:
Familiar with MailChimp (or other email marketing platforms), Canva (or other design platforms), and Google Analytics (or other analytics platform).
