Plan, lead and execute research to understand the context and needs of employees through qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies, from discovery to implementation. Work collaboratively inside a cross-functional team of designers, effectively integrating research findings into the product definition and design phases. Communicate research findings through artifacts such as presentations, charts, and visuals. In order to qualify for and be successful in this role, you should have: At least 5 years of experience leading and conducting research projects on web-based and mobile apps utilizing a variety of methodologies, such as user interviews, usability testing, information architecture, surveys, concept testing, data analysis, statistics, benchmarking, etc. Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Must have extensive experience as a storyteller to explain complex topics and make them easy to understand for all stakeholders. Must thrive in highly technical and complex environments and be able to deal with uncertainty. Must be able to meet challenges with a positive and problem-solving attitude, while being proactive, resourceful, and able to work with minimal supervision. Must have experience with tools including UserTesting, Qualtrics, and OptimalWorkshop to conduct research. Preferred experience with knowledge management tools such as Dovetail. Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as being highly experienced working with product team roles.

The role primarily requires strong qualitative research skills and less quantitative skills.

Does this position require to sit onsite or travel?

No travel is anticipated.

Does this person have to work in a specific time zone?

Any US-based time zone is ok.

Does this position have the opportunity to extend beyond the initial contract or convert to FTE?

We anticipate extending beyond the initial 6 months depending on the individual’s performance and available budget.

Is there a specific laptop that needs to be used for this role?

Mac, but it may be possible to provide a PC.

Master’s degree in Cognitive Science, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, or any other related field. A working experience of the equivalent is also acceptable for the position.
