Description We are looking for a Senior UX Designer to spearhead the evolution of advertising products that will better connect businesses of all sizes to their customers. As a key member of the User Experience team within Amazon Advertising, your work will help us create best-in-class products. You’ll be involved in all aspects of product development from brainstorming the next innovation to working collaboratively with user research, engineering, and product management. You will utilize a full range of skill—including: wire framing, interaction design, prototyping, and visual design—to bring these experiences to life. Your work will have strategic significance and high exposure. Most importantly, you will have a direct impact on the customer experience of shoppers, advertisers, and brand-owners globally. Key job responsibilities Own the UX of an emerging product with impact across Amazon. Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, data, customer feedback, user research and technical constraints/opportunities. Quickly and thoroughly create user flows, wireframes, design mockups, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize new product initiatives. Relentlessly simplify and distill complex processes into intuitive and elegant UI. Establish and maintain detailed user-interface patterns and specifications—working closely with developers to see your design through to deployment. Communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization. Partner closely with other product and design teams across Amazon. Champion user advocacy while balancing advertiser needs and business goals. Mentor junior talent. Basic Qualifications 8+ years of design experience Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature Knowledge of usability principles and techniques Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and design Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, or similar Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices Experience with hands-on visual design Preferred Qualifications Experience designing for multi-channel touch points. Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Desire to work in a start-up style environment, where iteration and experimentation is encouraged. Proven ability to work cross-team, synthesize feedback and input from business leaders, product management and engineering. Experience designing e-commerce experiences; bonus points in designing for global markets. Familiarity with industry standard prototyping software. Understanding of HTML, Javascript and CSS that informs design and interaction decisions. Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
