ABOUT THE POSITION
P+P seeks a Grant Writer and Institutional Partnerships Senior Manager to be a part of the Development Team at P+P. A great opportunity for grant writers or those with transferable skills who enjoy engaging internal and external audiences, the Grants Writer and Institutional Partnerships Senior Manager will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with foundations, government entities, and corporations and CPA firms. Additionally, in collaboration with members of the P+P leadership, the position will also assist in engaging individual donors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary staff member responsible for managing grant schedules and tracking submitted proposals, utilizing P + P’s database.
- Maintain regular contact and relationships with funders through email, phone calls, and visits.
- Conduct research to identify and evaluate potential funding opportunities from foundations, government agencies, corporations, and other institutional funders aligned with P+P’s mission and programs.
- Identify, evaluate, and enhance past, current, and new funding and sponsorship sources.
- Generate high-quality grant proposals, narratives, applications, and supporting documents tailored to funder requirements and priorities.
- Oversee compliance with funder requirements, including financial and narrative reporting.
- Monitor funds throughout the funding cycle to ensure activities and outcomes align with grant objectives.
- Work with the Development Director and Sr. Manager of Accounting to prepare reimbursement reports and documentation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports for internal and external audiences using P+P’s database.
- Support site visits for foundations, government entities, corporations, and CPA firms, collaborating with the Executive Director, Development Director, leadership, and program staff.
- Support donor engagement initiatives, including developing materials and participating in donor meetings.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to align grant strategies with organizational goals and priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Development Director.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position is hybrid and has the option to work remotely for a portion of the work week when programming allows and with supervisor approval.
- This position operates primarily in an office environment that is accessible.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to move around the office and between offsite meetings; grab, move, and manipulate objects, and operate a computer.
QUALIFICATIONS
Overall, P+P seeks candidates who are smart thinkers, can be self-directed yet collaborative, and who operate outside of the box and care about making people’s lives better. The right candidate will possess:
- Experience writing grants is preferred with demonstrated previous performance raising funds to hit projected revenue targets for nonprofit organizations.
- Clear understanding of income and wealth gaps (by economics, race, and gender), under-resourced communities and inequity. Knowledge of racial justice, social equity, racial and cultural awareness; an understanding of systemic and institutional racial bias. Understanding of and fluency about the issues and concerns of BIPOC communities and other marginalized groups. Demonstrated, practical understanding and application of race, equity, justice, diversity, and inclusion principles in an organizational setting.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in development and fundraising.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Embodies strong interpersonal skills including ability to build trust, influence, and relationships with diverse people and groups.
- Ability to deliver quality work, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and work in a team setting.
- Professional, highly motivated, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Able to protect P+P's value by keeping information confidential.
- Multilingual/multicultural is desirable.
