General Motors Senior Strategist – CRM Modeling and Audience Strategy in Bismarck, North Dakota

Job Description

This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of an office [Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford or Mountain View], you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

The Role

The Marketing Applied Sciences (MAS) team develops data science-driven solutions to help GM achieve business goals. As a Senior Strategist – CRM Modeling and Audience Strategy, you will lead strategic planning and in-house model adoption for CRM. You will understand and help execute CRM objectives, ensuring marketing investments drive measurable CRM outcomes.

This role is part of Activation Strategy within MAS, working directly with CRM teams to align goals, translate requirements for data science to execute model development. Additionally, you will help drive enterprise learning initiatives, audience strategies, and marketing outcomes.

What You'll Do

  1. Build and maintain stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment and action.
  2. Lead cross-functional collaboration with CRM, Data Science, Marketing, and Vehicle Brands to develop strategies and roadmaps.
  3. Manage project deliverables, track tasks, and drive execution.
  4. Define audience modeling and optimization requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
  5. Develop clear, compelling presentations to support strategic goals.
  6. Mentor team members and colleagues on best practices related to communication, collaboration, and driving team goals.
  7. Lead test-and-learn initiatives, driving structured experiments and optimization strategies.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  1. 5+ years in Advanced Analytics, Market Research, or related fields.
  2. Strong experience in client-facing roles with senior leadership presentation skills.
  3. Excellent communication skills —ability to translate ideas into concise narratives.
  4. Experience in cross-functional team alignment and decision-making.
  5. Strong organizational and project management skills with experience in test and learn initiatives.
  6. Familiarity with audiences, segmentation, and CRM/owned communications strategy a plus.
  7. Technical knowledge of data analytics, modeling, and experimentation (preferred).
  8. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI.
  9. Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze holistically and execute decisively.

What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)

  1. Master’s degree or MBA (preferred, but not required).
  2. Experience managing large-scale audience measurement programs.
