Digital Court Reporter – Independent Contractor or Employee

Superior Reporting Services is expanding our team of Digital Court Reporters! We are looking for independent contractors and employees for full-time and part-timepositions. Compensation is production-based and varies by assignment type and quality level.

Responsibilities:

  • Capture the official record of depositions, hearings, and trials using digital audio recording equipment.
  • Operate digital recording software and ensure high-quality audio capture.
  • Maintain accurate log notes and annotations for each proceeding.
  • Accurately identify speakers and events in real-time.
  • Follow state and jurisdictional requirements for court reporting.
  • Manage scheduling, confirmations, and coordination of assignments (Employees only).
  • Work independently in remote or in-person settings, depending on assignment type.
  • Upload and submit recordings and notes promptly per company guidelines.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

Requirements:

  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • AAERT Certified Electronic Reporter (CER) preferred, but not required.
  • Prior court reporting or legal transcription experience is a plus.
  • Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong grammar, punctuation, and technical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Reliable computer, high-speed internet, and quality headset.
  • Familiarity with digital court reporting software and equipment (e.g., RS Pro, FTR, or similar).
