Amazon continues to invest in its Advertising business to tap into the growing online advertising market. The Publisher Technologies team builds and operates extensible services that empower 1P Publishers to optimize their customer experiences and improve monetization. We focus on creating flexible, standards-based solutions that allow Publishers to innovate while seamlessly interacting with other advertising technology providers—both internal and external.
The Publisher Technology Data, Insights, and Analytics team accelerates data-driven decision-making by providing near real-time data, data management tools, actionable insights, and a user-friendly reporting experience. Our data products equip Publishers and Monetization teams with the tools needed to understand advertising performance and support scalable machine learning initiatives.
In this role, you will join a team that empowers hundreds of teams across Amazon with near real-time data to support big data analytics, insights, and machine learning at scale. You will work cross-functionally to design, develop, and implement advanced data tools, dashboards, and ETL pipelines to support advertising strategies and optimize revenue streams. You will analyze large datasets to identify patterns and trends and design A/B experiments to enhance both Publisher and advertiser experiences.
Key job responsibilities

Design, implement, and lead end-to-end projects and experiments, addressing complex or ambiguous business problems.

Build and automate data pipelines for ETL processes and support scheduling using industry-standard tools.

Create dashboards and reporting tools using Tableau, AWS QuickSight, or similar platforms to provide actionable insights for stakeholders.

Conduct ad-hoc analyses and produce reports to assist business teams in making data-driven decisions.

Recommend strategies and methodologies for solving business problems using statistical modeling, optimization, and machine learning, ensuring quantifiable impact.

Mentor and guide junior team members while being a key influencer in shaping the team’s business strategy and collaborating with related teams.

Communicate methodologies, insights, and recommendations effectively to senior leadership, adapting technical depth based on the audience.
Basic Qualifications
-
3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) is a plus.

- 2+ years of experience in data visualization with tools such as AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc.

- Leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding other data professionals.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
