Position Details - Location: 100% Remote - Schedule: Completely flexible work on your own time - Duration: 3 months minimum - Compensation Type: Academic Credit or Volunteer - Time Commitment: 5-15 hours per week, adjustable to your schedule - Local community outreach encouraged but not required.
**Organization Overview:** Voice Up is working to create new leadership opportunities for young women through their writing.
We identify young women throughout the world that have the drive in them to succeed and we support them in working towards their purpose prioritizing education, advocacy, and entrepreneurship.
All of our young women are emerging leaders and scholars. They have overcome significant challenges and have the fire (drive) inside them to serve as a bright light for their community inspiring themselves and others towards change that unites communities.
**Program Description:** This Global Writers Scholarship Internship connects aspiring young women with educational opportunities while amplifying their voices through storytelling. Working with a community of writers throughout the world, we help scholars develop their narrative skills while building sustainable funding channels for their education.
**Internship Role:** As a Remote Program Development Intern, you will support our scholarship initiative by:
- Engaging with our writing community to develop storytelling workshops and resources for international scholars - Supporting scholarship fund development and outreach strategies - Helping coordinate between university partners and potential scholarship recipients - Assisting in developing criteria and processes for the scholarship program - Contributing to digital content that shares scholars' stories and program impact - Collaborating with team members across multiple time zones and cultural contexts
**Required Qualifications:** - Current undergraduate or graduate student (for academic credit option) - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Demonstrated interest in international education, creative writing, or nonprofit development - Ability to work independently in a remote environment - Cultural sensitivity and interest in cross-cultural communication - Reliable internet access and ability to use digital collaboration tools
**Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience with grant writing or fundraising - Background in education, creative writing, or international development - Knowledge of Southern African cultures and educational systems - Previous remote work or volunteer experience - Project management skills
**Time Commitment:** - 10-15 hours per week - Minimum 3-month commitment - Flexible scheduling within program needs
